Weekend of Welcome – Interfaith Potluck

The WoW Potluck was a rambunctious, inclusive time of meeting, eating and sharing. In the theme of Confluence of Faiths we shared water stories: favourites rivers, raft trips gone awry! We also wrote statements about the gifts of our faith on blue paper waves to add to a shared river, a confluence.

The empty seat in the middle of the group photo is perfect!

Perhaps this empty spot means that there is always room for one more. Or perhaps this was a space held open in sacred playful readiness. We were all glad we had come!

There’s something deeply spiritual about an empty chair. It speaks — if we are quiet enough to listen — not just of absence, but of expectancy. Not just of loss, but of readiness. A seat held open in a sacred space signals that something — or Someone — is about to arrive. Joshua Case
